KZ ZNA Review: Product Overview

The KZ ZNA IEM features a hybrid driver configuration that includes a balanced armature and a large 12mm dual cavity dynamic driver. The earpieces are well put together with no gaps or rough edges. They’re also made of a high-quality lightweight metal alloy and resin, providing a premium look and feel while also ensuring durability.

The included detachable cable is also of good quality, being both flexible and tangle resistant. The gold-plated two-pin plug also aids in providing good contact between the cable and buds. Furthermore, the earphones also have a nice ergonomic shape and come with multiple sizes of double-layer “spin-fit” style ear tips to ensure a comfortable fit.

KZ ZNA Review: Our Verdict

The KZ ZNA IEM is an excellent in-ear monitor that delivers exceptional audio quality, comfort, and durability for a ridiculously low price. I tested them out with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and a Fiio KA1 Dac Amp and found the sound quality to be balanced with a warm and natural tone. The bass is punchy and pretty tight, while the mids and highs are clear and relatively detailed for the price, providing an engaging listening experience.

The design is sleek and stylish, with a durable metal housing that ensures some longevity and protection from wear and tear. The ear tips are comfortable and come in different sizes to fit any ear shape. The quality detachable cable is also a bonus, as it allows for easy replacement and customization. I love the flexibility and feel of the cable, it’s light years ahead of the throwaway cables KZ IEMs used to come with.

Vs. Moondrop Chu

Compared to the $20 Moondrop CHU, my current favorite IEM in this price range, I found both to have a nice balanced sound, but the CHU was more open and resolving with a wider stage. On the other hand, the ZNA had decent resolution, along with a richer midrange and punchier bass.

The ZNA is more of an “all-rounder” working equally as well with Cécile McLorin Salvant’s jazzy vocals as it does jamming on Beyonce’s “Cuff It”. The CHU is both remarkable and technical on the former, while still sounding ok with Beyonce. In addition, I found the ZNA to be a little more comfortable than the CHU.

Is The KZ ZNA A Good Value?

Overall, the KZ ZNA IEM is an excellent choice for audiophiles and professionals alike who want high-quality sound and comfort in a durable and stylish package. It is a great value for its price point and a worthy investment for anyone looking to upgrade their listening experience.
