Today, Cyrus Audio, a British Hi-Fi manufacturer that made its name with unconventional yet ingenious integrated amps (like the Cyrus ONE), announced its second foray into the hot wireless earbud market, the soundBuds2.
This second-generation product improves upon the first model with a sleeker design, larger drivers, touch controls, and longer battery life. According to Cyrus, comfort and balanced sound quality is the name of the game, a concept realized via the use of silicone ear hooks for a stable fit and neutral tuning meant to appeal to audiophiles.
Bluetooth 5.0 provides decent battery life (5 hours on the buds, 15 hours in the case), along with good range (about 30 feet). There’s also IPX5 water resistance so that they can be used on a jog or in the gym.
No word on Bluetooth codecs or companion app, but the price is reasonable at $119.
The soundBuds2 will be available via Amazon.com during the second quarter of this year.
