Another day, another True Wireless Earbud. The TWS earphone trend shows no sign of slowing, with Manufacturers cranking out both super-cheap models on the Entry-Level side of the category along with more expensive premium options, all at a feverish pace.
Today, HIFIMAN unveiled its second True Wireless Earbud model, the TWS800. At a price of $299, it definitely falls on the Premium side of things. The TWS800 follows the HIFIMAN TWS600 from last year and will be available later this month. The 800 has a more premium design than its predecessor, possessing a metal faceplate and charging case. It also has an upgraded driver and amp section, which is said to provide a full-range sound capable of presenting all genres at their best.

HIFIMAN Debuts TWS800 True Wireless®Earbud,
With Onboard Amplifier and Audiophile-grade Drivers
New Bluetooth 5.0 Earbud Features High-end Output,
Rugged Resistance to Dirt and Sweat
BELLMORE, NY, October 6, 2020– HIFIMAN, the leader in high fidelity personal audio, will soon deliver its second True Wireless® earbud that offers demonstrably improved sonics and exceptional Bluetooth reception that meets and exceeds expectations for the price.
The new TWS800 ($299) is a full range high-performance Bluetooth 5.0 earbud with a built-in 5-6mW amplifier and audiophile-grade drivers for a frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz that reveals the subtle highs and deep bass inherent in every genre, from rock to hip-hop, electronica, classical, and jazz.
“The TWS800 is the next step in the evolution of True Wireless audio,” said Dr. Fang Bian, Founder, and CEO, HIFIMAN Electronics. “Bass response and overall harmonics are on a par with some of the best-wired in-ear monitors, in a form factor that is comfortable enough to wear all day.”
An essential factor in the TWS800’s high-fidelity performance is HIFIMAN’s Topological Diaphragm: each earbud’s diaphragm, which converts mechanical vibrations to sound, is covered with a Nano particle coating that contributes to greater sonic detail than is typically associated with True Wireless earphones.
A high impedance (150 ohms) Advanced Alloy Voice Coil maximizes vocal clarity and full-range sonic reproduction. A new magnet offers maximum sensitivity, which is critical for achieving the best possible sound from smartphones, tablets, and other low-voltage portable devices.
Similar to its predecessor, the TWS800 features crystal-clear Bluetooth 5.0 for trouble-free calls and crystal-clear sonics, even in crowded environments.
The TWS800 earphones provide 4.5 hours of playtime, with an additional 31.5 hours available from the sleek, metallic portable charging case that cradles the earbuds no matter how large the ear tip. Designed for active use, the TWS800 is IPX4-rated for resistance to sweat and dirt over hours of uninterrupted service. And its ultra-low latency characteristics allow users to enjoy videos without audible delay.
Added Dr. Bian: “The combination of our Topology Diaphragm Design, Bluetooth 5.0, and an audiophile-grade magnet add up to the TWS800 being the best option for music lovers who demand outstanding sonics, reliability, and comfort over the long term.”
The TWS800 True Wireless Earphones will be available in October at a suggested retail price of $299. It will be available from Amazon and HIFIMAN’s online store,http://store.hifiman.com/. For additional information, visithttps://hifiman.com.
