Tanchjim, a well-established name in the portable HiFi audio world, has introduced its latest offering: the Luna, a flagship portable USB DAC/AMP. This new device is designed to elevate your portable audio experience, boasting premium features and exquisite design. We just reviewed their new 4U IEM, and it looks like it would be a great match.
The Tanchjim Luna DAC/AMP has two variants: a standard version and a limited-edition Asano Tanch Silver Sword model. The latter showcases an eye-catching embossed design, reflecting Tanchjim’s commitment to precision and quality. Both variants, however, share a premium aesthetic, with a CNC-machined aluminum alloy chassis and mirror-finish logo.
At the heart of the Luna lies a flagship dual DAC chipset, incorporating two high-end CS43198 DAC chips from Cirrus Logics. These proven performers are said to ensure top-notch audio quality, achieving ultra-low distortion, high SNR and DNR, and maintaining an ultra-low noise floor. The Luna supports decoding for high-resolution 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD256 audio signals.
In addition, Tanchjim has meticulously designed the Luna’s audio architecture for optimal performance. It features an independent power supply design and offers switchable Class AB and Class H amplification options, providing high output and efficiency. With a two-level gain mode and a maximum output power of 285mW, the Luna should pair well with various IEMs.
The Luna also boasts dual headphone output ports (3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced), non-linear volume adjustment for precise control, and a detachable silver-plated mono crystalline copper Type-C connector cable for optimal performance.
The Tanchjim Luna looks like a powerful, beautifully crafted device that promises to deliver exceptional sound in a compact and convenient package. The standard version is $129.99, and the limited-edition Asano Tanch variant is $139.99.
