Audioengine is launching its latest product, the 2nd Generation Hi-Res 32-bit D1 Portable Headphone Amplifier and DAC. This upgraded device is designed to deliver superior audio performance via its new USB-C and optical (SPDIF) digital input, making it compatible with phones, tablets, laptops, and computers.
It is equipped with an ESS ES9018 DAC chip, which now handles PCM up to 32/394 (the original Gen 1 only did 24/96), and its headphone output offers full-scale output of 2.0V RMS with an output impedance of 4.7 ohms. The D1 also features USB Audio 2.0, RCA, and mini-jack outputs.
