After several leaks from various websites around the internet, Sony’s latest Noise-Canceling headphones, the $399 WH-1000XM5, received their official release today.
Following the highly-rated and immensely popular XM4 headphones, the XM5 has a new design for enhanced comfort, along with improved noise-canceling via a new noise-canceling processor and improved audio quality coming from a new carbon-fiber composite driver.
On the audio tip, the XM5 offers high-bandwidth wireless audio via Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codec, and digital music files will be upscaled in real-time using Sony’s DSEE Extreme™4 audio processing.
These new headphones are also 360 Reality Audio Certified so you should get a custom immersive music experience with 360 Reality Audio tracks on services like TIDAL.
The WH-1000XM5 headphones are available in black and silver for $399.99 and will be available for pre-sale at Sony.com, Amazon, and Best Buy this week.
