Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless Copper High-End Stereo Headphone In The House! First Impressions And Unboxing Pics!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll repeat it. Apple’s removal of the headphone jack from their smartphones and its subsequent removal by other smartphone makers has increased the demand for high-quality wireless audio. This has pushed audio manufacturers to up their game when designing Bluetooth headphones, and the product I have today is one of the most apparent (and expensive) examples of this innovation. The $799 beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless Copper (a redesign of the Amiron Wireless) is opulent, it has solid copper accent rings, along with Alcantara wrap on the headband. But as elegant as it is, it’s also a serious piece of audiophile gear.

The Wireless Copper packs the same Tesla driver technology as the rest of their high-end headphones. But in this case, it also has some wireless tricks to allow for high-resolution playback sans a headphone cable. This is possible via the use of the aptX HD Bluetooth codec, which supports the transmission of up to 24/48 audio data through the air. Some question the sacrifices that have to be made to do this. But as someone who regularly uses it on my LG V40 phone, I am a fan. However, I must say that I have never used it on a headphone of this caliber before. Most of my experience is with the Bowers&Wilkins PX (which I love and are on sale by the way) and the HiBy W5 Bluetooth adapter. So far, I’m quite impressed. Bluetooth has come a long way, baby! Stay tuned for my full review.
