WiiM has introduced the Wiim Amp, a revolutionary (and affordable) streaming amplifier that promises to deliver an exceptional audio experience for audiophiles. Read on to discover more about this game-changing product.
WiiM, the company behind the award-winning Wiim Pro and Wiim Pro Plus streamers, has launched its first streaming amplifier, the WiiM Amp, which delivers an impeccable audio experience with hi-res, lossless quality while enabling multiroom functionality and connectivity to a plethora of cutting-edge technologies.
The WiiM Amp can be connected to classic passive speakers, home theater setups, or vintage record players, and users can effortlessly stream their favorite music from popular services like Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music using the user-friendly WiiM Home App.

Key features of the WiiM Amp include:
- Powerful Delivery: A Class-D amplifier packing 60 Watts per channel (8 ohms) or 120 Watts per channel (4 ohms) (TI 3255 Amplifier chip)
- Audio Input: Features analog (RCA), digital Optical port and HDMI ARC
- Audio Output: Up to 192 kHz/ 24-bit hi-res output, varying sample rate and bit depth based on the audio source without resampling
- Subwoofer Out: Offers automatic bass management when paired with an external subwoofer, elevating sound quality
- USB Host for Storage: Access personal media library and use it as a media server for other WiiM devices
- Optimal Sound Performance: Various EQ options are available to enhance the sound to suit individual preferences, speakers, and different listening environments
The WiiM Amp is compatible with a wide range of music streaming services/protocols, including Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Music Cast, Deezer, Qobuz, Pandora, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL HiFi and HiFi+. It also works with Siri, Alexa, and Google voice assistants.
Furthermore, setup is said to be easy. A simple in-app guide allows the device to be set up in less than two minutes. In addition, the aforementioned Wiim Home app allows you to set up a multiroom music system by utilizing extra Wiim Home streaming devices.
At a price point landing below $300, the Wiim Amp seems like it will be yet another disruptive device released this year from the Linkplay camp. We’re sure it will fly off the shelf if it has a sound that comes anywhere close to competitors like the Bluesound Powernode Edge (which sells for twice the price).
At this point, the Wiim Amp is not Roon Ready (even though future compatibility is promised), and I don’t see anything about MQA compatibility. But with the power specs, good looks, and easy-to-use software, it looks like a winner. We can’t wait to try it out!
The WiiM Amp is available now for $299 on Amazon. For more information about the WiiM Amp or other WiiM products, please visit www.wiimhome.com.
