Focal Bathys Headphones: Now Available In Dune Color With New Personalized Hearing Profile

Focal Bathys Dune: Immersive sound and active noise cancellation in a stunning new color.

This week, Focal, a leading brand in high-end audiophile headphones, announced a new colorway for their popular Bathys wireless headphones ($699) and a new Personalized Hearing Profile feature accessible via the Focal & Naim app (iOS and Android).

The new finish, called Dune, adds fresh contrast to the existing Black/Silver model. The Dune color scheme is said to be inspired by quarry minerals, Greek landscapes, and desert sands, creating a delicate and light aesthetic. It features a beige color with silver details, giving it an elegant appearance. Like the previous Black Silver version, it is also made with high-quality materials such as magnesium and genuine leather, providing sturdiness and comfort.

In addition, Focal has introduced a new feature called the “Mimi hearing test” in their Bathys headphones, allowing users to personalize the sound based on the results of an in-app hearing test. This feature is available through the Focal & Naim app, enabling everyone to enjoy the ideal Focal sound regardless of their hearing.

While the Dune model has the hearing test option available out of the box, the Black Silver version also includes access to this test through a simple app update (users must update to App Version 6.4.1 and Firmware Version 1.5.4).

Focal launched Bathys, its first-ever Bluetooth ANC headphones, last October. They offer excellent sound quality and a wide range of features. Made in France, these headphones employ Focal’s sound and high-end production expertise. With a Bluetooth 5.1 multi-point connection or a wired USB-DAC mode, the Bathys headphones deliver hi-res sound with a resolution of up to 24bits/192kHz.

The speaker drivers consist of a high-end aluminum/magnesium dome, producing deep bass, smooth treble, and clear vocals. The headphones also feature noise-canceling technology, including an optimized ‘Silent’ mode for noisy environments like planes and a ‘Soft’ mode for concentration in a home setting. Additional features include voice assistant compatibility, adjustable EQ, various connectivity options, a 30-hour rated battery life (with five hours available in just 15 minutes of fast charging), and more.

The Bathys in Dune can be found at headphones.com and will soon be available on Amazon alongside the original Black/Silver finish.
