The new Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds are here, offering “best-in-class” noise-canceling technology for an immersive audio experience on the go.
Sony Electronics Inc. today announced the highly anticipated WF-1000XM5 truly wireless earbuds, the latest addition to the award-winning 1000X series. According to Sony, the WF-1000XM5 offers the best noise-canceling of any truly wireless earbuds on the market, utilizing a pair of newly developed driver units, an increase to three mics per earbud (including dual feedback microphones), and two new proprietary noise-canceling processors.

The first of the new processors is the Integrated Processor V2, which works alongside the new HD Noise Canceling Processor QN2e. This combination enables precise control over six microphones, resulting in supposed class-leading noise-canceling capabilities. These processors are also said to enable 24-bit audio processing, high-performance analog amplification, and quick, effortless Bluetooth pairing.
Additionally, the new driver, called Dynamic Driver X, has been engineered to achieve more precise cancellation waves in the lower frequency range. Sony says this improvement is made possible by its dome-edge separation structure, which employs hybrid material construction similar to high-end over-ear headphones. This driver is also said to achieve low distortion and clear sound quality.
The new Sony earphone also features new foam Noise-Isolation Earbud Tips, which are designed to help with noise isolation in the high frequencies. Sony also promises they will provide a more comfortable and secure fit than the previous generation of WF-1000X earbuds, working in conjunction with a new ergonomic earpiece design.
Furthermore, the WF-1000XM5 is now 25% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor, the WF-1000XM4. The charging case has also been downsized for a sleeker, pocket-friendly experience.

The WF-1000XM5 also offers several other features, including:
