I feel like Vocal Jazz is in a new Golden Age, where artists have escaped the monotony of imitation and forged new paths for an old art form. Jose James’ “The Dreamer” released in 2007, was at the leading edge of the Vocal Jazz resurgence, and it is just as fresh today as it was back then.
Only now it’s even fresher since James has now released the 10th Anniversary edition with 4 additional tracks and remastering…if you have never heard “The Dreamer” before it’s time to give this classic a listen, and if you have heard it, now you have a chance to fall in love all over again…Check out “Park Bench People”, “Nola”, and all of the newly added tracks (the last four on the album).
