If you follow this blog at all, you know when it comes to music, I like a lot of weird, jazzy, stuff. This weeks music selection falls firmly in that camp. Go Get Ice Cream and Listen to Jazz from Seattle’s Kassa Overall, is an eclectic amalgamation of spoken word, jazzy electronica, and hip-hop which I think will appeal to fans of many different genres, even those who proudly declare their distaste for jazz.
Overall is a drummer who also raps, and his bars are just as engrossing as the rhythms emanating from his drum kit. He also enlists some heavyweights from both traditional and modern jazz such as the late Roy Hargrove. Check it out, Tidal stream below…
